  I was in the store printing a label to drop off a package. My son who's 5 and is on the autism spectrum and was having a meltdown. I physically couldn't help or I would have - he had not even been crying for less than a minute when the employee very forcefully said "Kid if you don't get it together I'll have to make you leave the store". I find it so appalling that we threaten to kick kids out of stores for crying? Here's why he was crying - he dropped a pen behind the employee counter that I could not get and he thought he lost it and can't speak to tell me or anyone else he lost it and doesn't know, I know what happened. Hence the meltdown. The sad part is no one would dare say this to a child with a noticeable disability and because autism looks like every other human being. I'm subject as his parent to burden the nasty comments made by people on a daily basis. With that being said, I'm unfortunately accustomed to behavior and i'm fully aware my child does not look special needs. I don't expect others too so when being told he can't help it he's on the autism spectrum, what I do expect is the comments to stop and at a bare minimum an apology. The girl who made the comment was named Taylor with dark brown curly hair in the copy+print department.
