  I recently completed my TSA PreCheck enrollment at this Staples location, but my overall experience was disappointing due to the customer service I received the day before. I had already prepaid for my TSA PreCheck enrollment and arrived at approximately 4:20 PM for my appointment. Unfortunately, I realized I had brought the wrong passport information and had to return home to retrieve the correct documentation. Despite heavy rain, lightning, and thunderstorms, I made every effort to come back the same afternoon and arrived at approximately 4:50 PM—before the store closed. When I returned, I was told I could not be assisted because the employee who handled TSA PreCheck enrollments was leaving in about nine minutes. As a customer who had already paid for the service and returned before closing, I found that very disappointing. I came back the following day and completed my enrollment. To my surprise, the entire process took less than three minutes from start to finish. Knowing how quickly it could be completed made the previous day’s decision to turn me away even more frustrating. I understand employees have scheduled work hours, and I appreciate the representative who assisted me today. However, if there is a cutoff time for TSA PreCheck enrollments before the posted closing time, that should be clearly communicated to customers. Turning away prepaid customers who arrive before closing creates an avoidable and frustrating experience. I hope Staples reviews its procedures so future customers don’t experience the same situation.
