I've been here many times; service is always speedy and the people are reasonably pleasant.
However, I'm giving 2 stars because of how I was treated today. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the super strong smell of air freshener. I am very sensitive to artifical fragrances and it literally hurts my lungs and is difficult to breathe around scented candles, perfumes, plug ins, etc. I know everyone is not this sensitive to synthetic fragrances, because I wasn't always this way either. BUT I also know I'm not the only one who is!
The scent was so strong that I was taking shallow breaths and in the 5 mins I stood in line, I contemplated leaving the store if I had to wait much longer.
When I was called for my turn, I said in a respectful tone of voice to the employee, "the smell of the air freshener is really overwhelming in here." He said, "Overwhelming??" In a tone to suggest that I was being dramatic. I said, "Yes, like it's overpowering and it's difficult for me to breathe." He replied, "Well, you're the only one who's ever said that, so I guess it's a matter of choice." I was so stunned by the way he belittled me and suggested that having difficulty BREATHING was my CHOICE, that I didn't respond. I just looked at him.
Having worked in customer service many times myself, what he should have done was offer to tell the manager at the least, or said something like, "well I didn't notice a strong smell but I'm sorry it's bothering you," or something along those lines. You don't belittle a customer who is being respectful and tell them they're CHOOSING to not breathe.
Also, synthetic fragrances are just chemicals, some of which are carcinogenic, and also disrupt hormones. They're not healthy for anyone to breathe, sensitive or not.
