The self-service kiosk seems to always be out of label paper which can be counterproductive

I had yet another frustrating experience at the USPS Shannon Street location. I arrived to ship a package that was fully wrapped and covered except for a tiny amount of red visible above and below the shipping label from a USPS Priority Mail box underneath. Despite the package being completely usable and the exposed area being minimal, the clerk refused to accept it, insisting that employees “know their boxes” and could identify it as USPS packaging. What made the situation worse was the way it was handled. Rather than offering a reasonable solution or explaining the policy professionally, I was met with the same dismissive and condescending attitude that seems all too common at this location. Customer service here consistently feels more focused on enforcing rules than helping customers. The experience is made even more frustrating by the chronic lack of staff supporting customers at the front. Lines are routinely long, and there often appears to be only one employee serving customers. What should be a quick errand regularly turns into an unnecessarily unpleasant and time-consuming experience. I’ve used many shipping providers, and USPS—particularly this location—continues to provide some of the poorest customer service I’ve encountered. The combination of long waits, inflexible policies, and rude interactions makes it difficult to recommend. If you have other shipping options available, I would strongly consider using them instead.

Good post office. One of the only ones in the area that’s open on Saturday and open until 1:30 PM too! Well-organized and easy to find what you need supply-wise. If there’s a line, it usually moves quickly. All my interactions with the postal workers there have been friendly, polite and helpful.

Visited this post office and had an absolutely unacceptable experience. The exit door was broken, so customers were forced to leave through the entrance, which is clearly not designed or marked as a proper exit. While exiting, the door swung back and cracked me directly in the forearm, cutting it open. This is a serious safety hazard and should never happen—especially in a government-operated building that’s supposed to meet basic safety standards. Broken exits, improper traffic flow, and doors that can injure customers is beyond negligent. This isn’t just an inconvenience; it’s an injury caused by unsafe conditions, and it’s completely unacceptable. Someone is going to get seriously hurt if this isn’t addressed immediately. This situation feels lawsuit-worthy, and at the very least, management needs to take responsibility and fix these hazards before anyone else is injured.

I’m surprised that this location has so many negative reviews: both staff members I interacted with today were friendly and helpful, and I witnessed them behave as such to other customers as well. Good USPS location!
