- AAAmir A.Sep 15, 20265.0★★★★★ I have to give a huge amount of credit to the Black Mountain Post Office. I went in to take care of a change of address, and my particular situation was considerably more complicated than the average “I moved, please forward my mail” situation. Somehow, instead of turning it into a bureaucratic obstacle course, the staff were incredibly kind, patient, and helpful and got everything taken care of. The employee who helped me was genuinely wonderful. She listened to what I needed, took the time to understand the situation, and actually helped me find a way forward instead of making me feel like I was inconveniencing her by existing within a federal postal facility. That alone deserves five stars. There is something particularly refreshing about encountering someone at a government counter who is friendly, competent, patient, and clearly understands that sometimes people show up with situations that don’t fit neatly into a little box on a form. I walked in expecting bureaucracy and walked out thinking, “Wait… did I just have a pleasant experience at the post office?” Black Mountain apparently has the rarest species in America: a government employee who actually makes you feel like they want to help you. 😂 Seriously, thank you to the staff here for being so kind and accommodating. You made something that could have been an enormous headache surprisingly painless, and I genuinely appreciate it. Five stars without hesitation. If every post office were run with this kind of patience and humanity, people might actually stop using “the post office” as a synonym for frustration. Black Mountain, y’all are doing something right.

They are saying our mailbox is full... those packages are not going to fit in my mailbox... I really think a drone could do a much better job. If you can't figure out where an address is, why would you work delivering mail. I get so aggravated having to hunt down my packages because someone doesn't want to think....
