First ever visit to the wayzata post office Monday, July 13, 2026 at 1pm. The window staff was rude and unhelpful. If it was a private sector business, every one of those employees working on that day and time would have been fired and replaced a long time ago. Score another loss for the public work sector. Depressing experience.

I wish I would have read the other passport reviews prior. I made an appointment for two adult passports. My significant other was turn away because he didn’t bring his expired passport book. They also took my birth certificate and said I would get it back in the mail. Which makes me uneasy since no where in the online information does it say this is normal practice. My significant other then went to the Maple Grove city center the next day and was told they wouldn’t have turned him away for not having the expired passport book. They also did not take his birth certificate. They only took the copies we provided. William was the guy that helped me at the Wayzata PO and was definitely lacking in customer service. Seemed like I was interrupting his day of head banging. I wouldn’t be surprised if my application comes back rejected because he was rushing through everything. Do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment at the Maple grove city center and see Nicole S.

I had a very disappointing experience at this USPS location with an employee named William. I came in simply to drop off a package. I had reused an Amazon shipping box, and William informed me that I needed to remove the old battery warning label. I immediately removed it without any issue. He then told me that I also had to remove the old barcode, which was underneath clear tape and was extremely difficult to peel off. After trying several times and realizing I couldn’t remove it cleanly, I politely asked if I could use a small piece of USPS tape to cover the barcode. Instead of offering any assistance or explaining other options, William simply told me I would have to purchase tape. Throughout the entire interaction, he was dismissive and made no effort to help me resolve a very simple issue. What disappointed me most was not the policy itself I understand USPS has rules about old labels and barcodes but William’s attitude. He was rude, impatient, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. When I asked for his name because I wanted to provide feedback about my experience, he responded in a sarcastic and confrontational tone, saying words to the effect of, “Go ahead and complain. I work for the government, so I know what I’m doing. Have a blessed day.” Rather than trying to resolve the situation or address my concerns, his comments came across as dismissive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, at the end of the transaction, there was a customer satisfaction survey on the screen asking how I would rate my service. Before I had a chance to respond, William reached over and selected the smiling face himself without asking for my permission. I was shocked. That rating was supposed to reflect my own experience, and I had not yet made a selection. Given how I was treated, I would not have chosen the positive rating. Having an employee select a favorable survey response on behalf of a customer is inappropriate and misrepresents the actual customer experience. I believe USPS employees should enforce policies professionally while still treating customers with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this interaction fell far short of that standard.

I needed to tape a label onto my package and rather than letting me use their tape. They told me I had to buy some tape. So disappointing. You send packages from UPS and they do everything to help you. I chose to drive home and get my own tape and now I will go to Excelsior post office to mail my package.
