This place is the absolute worst in the area. Always a line, understaffed and one particular lady that’s always at the counter is the least helpful person I’ve ever encountered. It’s like talking to a robot. Avoid this place if you can.

Our postal service in Shelby TWP. sent my package to West Bloomfield instead of my Shelby TWP address. USPS has been hiring incompetent people since COVID.

We had an appointment to get passports done for the kids. The morning of, we received an email confirming our appointment and what was needed for payment and processing of the passports. We take the time off work, show up for our appointment to a line to the back of the building. We stood in line for 5 minutes before even seeing a single employee of the post office. After 15-20 minutes standing in line, the post office lady shouts out, “if you’re here for passports, they are canceled”. Still no cancellation letter, no email, no phone call, nothing. Just a lost days work and no passports. This office is a complete mess. The managers there should be gone.

I would like to file a formal complaint regarding an extremely unprofessional interaction my boyfriend had while dropping off a package at your USPS location, this morning at 10:30 AM. He had run out of tape and politely asked the employee if there was tape available for purchase or if USPS offered any tape he could use. Instead of responding professionally, the employee, a white woman with blonde hair, told him “no” and immediately slammed the sliding service window in his face. A moment later, she reopened the window and said, “Why don’t you use your manners and ask for some?” This was confusing because he had asked respectfully from the beginning. He works in sales and customer service, so being polite with customers is second nature to him. She then tossed the tape toward him rather than handing it to him, closed the window again, and said, “Ring the doorbell when you’re done,” before once again slamming the window in his face. What made this experience even more upsetting was that the customer behind him, who was white, was treated in a noticeably friendlier and more respectful manner. As a Chaldean family, the difference in treatment left us feeling that he may have been treated differently because of his ethnicity. Whether intentional or not, the interaction was humiliating and unacceptable. We are requesting that a manager contact us regarding this incident. No customer should be spoken to or treated this way when simply asking a polite question. We hope this matter is taken seriously so that other customers do not have a similar experience.

Terrible service. Employees couldn't care less to be helpful. Very disorganized. Not very clean.
