It seems the Fowlerville USPS mail carriers think they can decide whether residents have the right to utilize their own driveway and still receive their mail. Apparently, if they cannot pull directly alongside an otherwise unobstructed and deliverable mailbox, they simply choose at their own discretion not to deliver it. A package of mine was recently scanned as “No Access to Delivery Location,” which is what brought attention to this behavior that happens often with our mail. That label was a false misrepresentation. The mailbox was not blocked. There was no vehicle parked in front of it, no trash cans, construction materials, overgrown vegetation, or anything physically preventing access to the mailbox. This property has a circular driveway accessible from both the north and south, something the Fowlerville Postmaster later acknowledges himself. A vehicle parked inside a residential driveway does not automatically make an otherwise accessible mailbox “blocked,” nor should USPS expect homeowners to leave their entire driveway vacant all day simply to receive their mail. I filed a formal complaint expecting an impartial investigation and that’s when the explanation changed. Now USPS is attempting to make this about an allegedly “unsafe maneuver” supposedly preventing the carrier from delivering when a vehicle is within the circular driveway. There is one major problem with that excuse: THE CARRIER PERFORMS THAT MANEUVER WHETHER WE RECEIVE OUR MAIL OR NOT. The carrier approaches from the south and routinely uses our driveway as a turnaround point to head back south after this stop. I have personally watched the carrier pull into the driveway, refuse to deliver the mail, back out by way of this “unsafe maneuver”, and leave. So USPS claims maneuvering or backing in our driveway is somehow too unsafe to permit delivery, while the carrier is simultaneously entering the same private driveway and performing that maneuver anyway simply to turn around and continue the route. That makes no sense. If the maneuver is genuinely too unsafe to deliver mail, then the carrier should not be entering our property and using our driveway as a convenient turnaround point while refusing to service an unblocked and widely accessible mailbox. They cannot have it both ways. The driveway cannot be safe enough to enter, maneuver within, back out of, and use as part of the route, yet somehow too unsafe to deliver mail while already there. The very next day after my original complaint, I watched the carrier do it again: pull in, fail to deliver, back out, and leave. USPS then proposed relocating my mailbox to the street. Absolutely not. Moving an established mailbox is not an acceptable substitute for addressing a delivery practice where residents are apparently expected to stop using their own driveway to accommodate the carrier. The carrier already uses this driveway as a turnaround regardless of whether delivery is completed. To make matters worse, the delayed package contained my dog’s heartworm medication. After USPS refused delivery for several days, the package was eventually left at the door rather than in the mailbox—meaning the carrier had to exit the vehicle anyway. The box was also delivered visibly damaged. Customers deserve accurate tracking information and reliable mail service. What I experienced instead was repeated refusal to deliver to an unobstructed mailbox, a false “No Access” designation, shifting explanations, and an apparent expectation that residents arrange use of their own property around whatever is most convenient for the carrier. GOD FORBID PEOPLE USE THEIR OWN DRIVEWAY OR HAVE VISITORS DURING THE DAY AND STILL EXPECT TO RECEIVE THEIR MAIL.

i had an older women who's an employee who parks in the back, driving a blue or black ford explorer, say to me "you're in asshole" after i walked across their cemetery road entrance while she waited for me to cross. for an employee to speak to an innocent pedestrian like that is very, very bad and inappropriate.

This post office is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. Now I'm seeing that others have had the same issue with the Post Office denying packages until postage is paid for....even though the sellers did pay for the shipping correctly. I am not going to continue to have packages sent just for them to be denied until I personally go in there and pay the shipping. This whole office needs an overhaul of new employees. Especially management. Do better.

The mail deliverer holds on to your important mail, for 10 days like rent payments, so that you end up paying late fees. I owe my landlord $40 in late fees because of this incompetent mail. Deliverer
