I’ve been contemplating writing my review for a long time and after seeing so many have the same experience, I’m jumping in 3-4 years ago, this post office was great! They were helpful and kind, even the Asian man was sweet. Since then, he has become very rude and the other associates have copped an attitude and entitlement as well. I’ve had the door slammed in my face by the Asian man telling me “he’s not dealing with my packages” because I bring them in without a scan sheet. 2 others from the post office said the same thing, gave me so much crap for bringing in a large number of packages without scan sheet and told me they will no longer scan them in. Literally that is your job - you’re paid very well to scan packages. If you don’t like your job, find a new one. It’s that simple. Instead, I have to drive to the Chelsea branch where they scan all my packages in with a smile and pleasant demeanor. No attitude, no rude customers, just pleasant people doing the job they signed up for. Why don’t I use a scan sheet you ask? Well, the two times I have, my packages have not shown the initial scan and conveniently BOTH TIMES I have, 1 of my packages went missing. Completely missing. That’s money out of my pocket & upset customers - not to mention customers upset when they are told I’m shipping on one day but the package doesn’t have a scan til the next day and they’re wondering why I don’t keep to my word. This issue directly effects my livelihood. I know the scan sheet problem still exists - because LAST week at one of the post offices I ship from, a girl was in there upset because she brought in a scan sheet and had the same problem I did. DO BETTER DEXTER - I’m sure there’s many people that would love this job if the higher ups decide to clean house. Side note: one day I had only 20 packages and I said screw it, I’m ready to throw down with Dexter because it’s BS I have to drive to Chelsea…. A younger man was at the counter and happily accepted my packages. No complaints, no issues, scanned them all in and gave me a receipt. I was shocked! I thanked him several times and said this was the best experience I’ve ever had here and usually I get yelled at for doing this so I go to the Chelsea branch. Turns out, the Asian man was on vacation and this gentleman was from the Chelsea branch to help out during this time. It really is entitlement from the Dexter post office employees. It’s disgusting and not the experience we should have in a small town.

I usually love going to the post office but I have to agree with the other reviewers. The fellow at the counter is the most rude and unhelpful postal clerk I’ve ever encountered. He’s so touchy he will reprimand you if you’re standing wrong.

Very nice postmaster. She helped me resolve an out of town PO Box renewal issue, which I appreciated. Thank you for that! Parking is odd. I require a handicap spot which, at this post office, you have to approach as you are headed northbound, and it is on the street. I was not prepared for that and took a spot at the back side of the building near their loading dock.
