I was just in this PO today, where the only person working (she said as much) was a woman who was also on a live video call with her mother before, after, and throughout my visit. She was barely able to do her job, as she was engaged in a completely different conversation: with her mom. Once in a while she spoke to a customer, but it was hard to know who she was talking to when she said to a well-dressed older professional man, "I bet you think you look cute." Her mother could see all the customers, including me, and I could see her. She could probably also see the computer monitor, with all private and sensitive customer information. This is in a Federal Post Office! No wonder our mail system is in shambles in Baltimore City. I hope my Certified Letter gets to its destination, but I'm not optimistic.

The last two times (today being the latest) I have come to this PO, there has been NO ONE at the service window. Today I said loudly "hello?!" and finally someone came out to help me. She looked and acted grumpy, no smile or "hello." She mumbled softly and I had to bend over and stick my ear near the opening. The previous time I visited there was a sign on the window saying "Training in process. Please be patient." Well, there was no reason to BE patient because there was no one there to be patient with! After being patient for a few minutes, I left. Is this PO understaffed? This has pretty much ALWAYS been my experience there (for YEARS): GRUMPY employees and/or no one at the window. Please get more staff and ask staff to just smile. It's hard for us clients to smile at someone and have her/him NOT return the smile. I try NEVER to go to 21210 -- whenever possible, I've gone to Ruxton (the NICEST people) or Mt Washington (also nice). The folks at Ruxton and Mt W seem happy; maybe if the Roland Park staff smiled they would feel happy, too!

The stated “open hours” are nonsense. The employee seems to have full discretion over how late to arrive in the morning, how long of a lunch break to take, and how early to close in the afternoon. You take your chances here. Often queues gather at the door waiting for the place to open. Weird. Update: I’ve now come here four times since the start of 2026 only to find the location unstaffed and locked during posted open hours.

Needlessly rude and discourteous staff. I have to gear up my courage before entering. It’s too bad because the location is so convenient and the building is so charming; but watch out when you enter….
