I want to start by saying I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews, especially for service workers as they work incredibly hard and deal with so much on the daily. That being said, James’ lack of professionalism is inexcusable. I typically go to the Post Office on Grove Street, however went to the Wellesley Hills location today. I went to the counter and politely asked for a label that was not priority shipping. James said I could purchase a sticker in addition to the shipping label, or I could tape on a piece of paper at home with the return and shipping addresses. I carry a notebook in my purse so said I would step aside to do this. He asked if I had tape with somewhat of an attitude, and I said I was all set. James then helped the next customer who left after their transaction. The person working in the back of house then proceeded to talk about that customer and say, “You know how people are in Wellesley, they’re desperate,” clearly not realizing there was someone from Wellesley still in the building who could hear them. At this point I am keeping to myself, tape the makeshift label to my box, and head back up to the counter. James tells me “This label is never going to stick,” and at this point I am just flat out annoyed. Partially at the attitude and clear push to get me to buy their stickers which I didn’t need as this has never been an issue at the main Grove St location, and partially because I heard him and the back of house employee talking rudely about Wellesley residents in broad daylight while open. I stated the label I attached is exactly how he and the Grove St location advised, and he said the return address may fall off. This made zero sense as the return and shipping address were on the same sheet of paper. At this point I asked him “Why are you giving me a hard time? I did exactly as you asked, and am trying to get a simple shipping label so what is the problem?!” He had no answer and proceeded to complete the transaction. I have no idea what was going on in his head and truthfully it doesn’t matter because his demeanor was rude, condescending, and unnecessary. After the transaction I recommended he not talk poorly about Wellesley customers while they are open in the future, especially when they are the ones supporting USPS’ business. I am generally very forgiving for service workers as I have been one myself, however there is zero excuse for this behavior from anyone. Based on this experience and overhearing James’ interactions with other customers, it seems the front and back of house both need customer service training.

Very unpleasant experience at this post office. I paid for postage on 150 books, and these people straight up told me they didn't want to take them because they didn't wanna scan them individually. No post office has ever told me that. I said "whatever I'll go to another post office" and when I got back to my car, I heard the "manager" talking shit about me to another employee in the parking lot. I called him out on it and he looked like a dear in headlights, looking like he can't fathom that he just got caught talking shit about a customer. This place is unreal, they just didn't want to do their job. Very unprofessional

I've only had good experiences at this Post Office. The wait time has been reasonable (I usually go in the morning) and the clerks have been friendly and helpful. One woman even gave me excellent advice about sending my overnight package more cheaply (I had to repackage it to fit certain dimensions, but it worked and I gaved a couple bucks!). They do a good job here.
