The manager Mike Lenning, let someone steal a $3,000 package that I had paid insurance and required signature. Scam artist and a thief. Someone left with that package I had sent this office. I needed the tracking to update in order to get the funds from eBay. He said he can’t and won’t do update the tracking without the signature. He can’t send my $3,000 rare coin back to me, and told me to “figure it out online”. About to take a vacation Massachusetts I guess.

The Newton Centre post office is the most understaffed and inefficient post office in the world. It’s awful.

There is a worker here whose name is Poul-no that is not a misspelling, that is how their manager informed me his name was spelled. Poul was the only person working up front, and he casually said to the person in front of me who was front of the line that he would be back in just a moment, he had to go to the back to speak to someone. 10 minutes pass and there is a line of 8 people including myself, and he still has not shown up. I step up to one of the counters and ring the bell and ask if they're going to come back. Poul immediately comes out from behind a door and steps into the lobby and directly confronts me. He says that there are self-service kiosks and if I'm not interested in waiting, then I can use kiosk, and that there is no reason for me to be reacting like this. I am frustrated obviously but I am trying to be patient with this. I tell him I have questions I need to ask, he interrupts me and tells me that there's no need and to go ahead and use a self-service Kiosk. I insist that I have questions that I need to ask, and he interrupts again and asks me my question. I tell him to please help the person in front of me because that person was already waiting for him, but he doubles down and tries to press me again. I tell him I am going to wait my turn and insist he helps the person in front of me. Poul goes back into the front desk area, helps the person in front of me, then calls me up. As soon as I get up to the front of the counter, he accuses me of lying about needing questions answered and once again insists that I use the self-service kiosk because there is no reason for me to be up here when he has a line, and that I am holding up the line. At this point I do snap because of a variety of problems I have with what he just said. We get into an argument where I insist I do in fact have questions, and he accuses me of holding everyone up by raising my voice. At this point, Poul's manager, Debby is behind us, and she offers to take over and help. I did have genuine questions!!! I'm mailing my friend a rare CD and I want to make sure I packaged it safely, and I wanted to know if it was fine for me to use bubble wrap considering I was using such a tight envelope. Debby helps me find a box to put this in, and handles the whole process, and apologizes for Poul's behavior. I explain to her that I would never have reacted the way that I did if I was not accused of lying or pressured into getting out of line to use self-service kiosks. I did leave a complaint using the link in my receipt but I am also posting here because I'm still floored that Poul was allowed to openly accuse me of lying about having questions and attempt to pressure me into getting out of line. There is no reason anyone should be at the front desk with behavior like that. Obviously a google review isn't going to get him fired, but there needs to be some kind of accountability. That is just wholly unacceptable and not only will I ever come back to this location, I'll be weary of having to work with anyone at USPS because of this. I appreciate Debby, but this wasn't something that ever needed to be an issue.

We came in for a passport appointment during their walk-in hours but they turned us away. According to them, because they were understaffed that day; however the place was empty when we arrived.
