To echo many others, yes, there is a specific older woman on staff who, in my experience, is the rudest out of everyone. Which isn't hard to do when I've only ever seen two other people working at this location and have barely ever interacted with them, despite how I prayed that they'd be at the front desk instead of her. God never was in my favor, sadly. She's often snippy and condescending. I understand being frustrated not everyone comes into the post office knowing exactly what they're supposed to do, but, at the same time, that is an essential task of your job, so I don't understand being so miserable about it to our faces. I just want to send a package to my mother and be on my way. However, I think more than that this location simply has a staffing issue. I would not be surprised if a combination of things I can infer about what she does on a daily basis contribute to why she, and many post office workers, act like this. Given the fact she has not lost her job despite how often people complain, I'm guessing whoever runs this location either can't afford better help and/or sees no reason enough to. It's a post office in a convenient location, people need it, and enough people are either unaware of her or oblivious, so it's "enough". If that's all you care about, then yes, this a perfectly good location for getting the job done...however, consider calling ahead to confirm they're actually open that day before you take your packages there.

A local branch of USPS now seems like a luxury, but even a decade ago there were branches across Boston. Having seen the Allston post office sold off and turned into apartments, I am concerned that the Postal Service would eliminate the Brookline Village branch as a cost-saving measure. That must not be allowed. It was CLOSED FOR REPAIRS MAY 22, 2026 with no date announced for reopening. We value our local post office and the people who staff it, and we look forward to being able to mail our packages there again soon.

Had a very upsetting experience here today around 10:00 AM. An older female employee behind the counter started screaming at my child for simply leaning on a railing while we waited in line. We left without mailing our letter and went to the 1295 Beacon St branch instead. The difference was night and day, the staff there were wonderful. I won't be returning to this office.
