- EPEl Paso1 day ago1.0I used to support the Post Office to the point that I’d argue against privatization and even supported their collective bargaining and union rights. Not anymore. It’s time to privatize the post office. They are an inefficient bureaucracy that doesn’t particularly care about their customers. Last month I bought a $200 money order to send to the US Treasury and mailed it off with tracking. It never made it to the destination. Tracking shows that it never made it out of the distribution facility near its final destination. They charged me another $23 for an inquiry that could take a month. The poor choice on my part to use the USPS will more than likely cost me $1000 before the issue is resolved. I missed an important deadline because of them. I even had insurance. In another post office I was lined up during the holidays to mail a package. When I got up to the counter the clerk accused me of steeling the tape I used to seal the box. There was a role on the counter that was partially used. I never touched their tape but they threatened to call the cops, review security blah blah blah. I said go ahead. They knew they didn’t have shit. In another instance during the Holidays I was lined up 5-10 deep with other customers when someone in the back said “eff this I ain’t waiting”and left. The guy had a USPS uniform on. After he disappeared he reappeared shortly after behind the counter demanding the clerk process his package. To her credit she refused him but he treated her like isht. There have been more negative postal experiences. Too many to type. When the customer becomes a problem it’s time for you to go out of business. We will survive without the USPS. Sooner the better.

The carriers smash the mail, don't even attempt to get signatures for priority mail (just claim nobody is home), and drive like the law doesn't apply to them. The office is no better. Wish I could choose a different post office as Wamego's is absolutely atrocious.
