I would be very cautious about opening a PO Box online through this particular location. I’m a content creator, and I specifically wanted a PO Box so that PR packages, business mail, and other correspondence could be sent somewhere other than my home address. I opened the PO Box online, completed all of the required paperwork, and paid for one full year online. When I went into this location to have my paperwork verified, the postal worker seemed surprised that I had already completed everything online and that there was very little left for her to do other than verify and authorize the paperwork. She placed the paperwork in a binder, gave me my PO Box key that same day, and I left under the impression that everything had been properly completed and that my box was active. Several months later, I began receiving mail addressed to other people. Initially, some of the mail was even addressed to different PO Box numbers, so I didn't think much of it. However, within approximately eight months of opening the box, I started receiving mail and packages addressed to a completely different person but showing the exact same PO Box number that I had paid for. At that point, I went into the office to pick up my mail and question why someone else's packages were being delivered to my PO Box. I was informed that the box was actually not registered under my name at all and that I did not have an active PO Box account with USPS. This was especially frustrating because the same employee who told me that I did not have an active account was the employee who had originally verified my paperwork, placed it in the binder, and handed me the key to the box. What concerns me even more is that I have no way of knowing whether packages intended for me were ever received or taken by the other person whose name was associated with the box. I had several people and at least two companies send me items that I never received, even though the tracking information stated that they had been delivered to my PO Box. I brought the issue up with the post office, but nothing ever came of it. There was never a clear explanation of what happened to those packages and no resolution for the missing items. I want to be very clear that I am not claiming that the other person intentionally took my packages, because I have no way of knowing what happened. My concern is that USPS apparently allowed another person's account to be associated with the same PO Box I had been given a key to and was paying to use, creating a situation where mail and potentially packages intended for me could have been misdirected or accessed by someone else. Essentially, I spent months believing that my PO Box had been properly opened and verified when the employee had apparently failed to complete the necessary portion of the paperwork on the USPS side. I ultimately had to contact USPS customer service myself to get a refund for the one year of service I had paid for. My biggest concern is that I was given a key and allowed to use a PO Box for months without anyone catching that the account was apparently never properly established under my name. If I had not started receiving someone else's mail and packages, I have no idea how much longer I would have gone without realizing there was a problem. When I went into the office to bring this situation up to the worker, the same postal worker who put my paperwork in the binder, could not find my paperwork in the binder that she had placed it months ago... I would strongly recommend double checking that your PO Box is actually active and registered under your name before assuming everything has been completed, particularly if you open the box online and then bring the paperwork into this location for verification. My experience suggests there was a serious breakdown in the process at this office, and unfortunately I was the one who had to deal with the consequences.

I've had a joint box here for nearly a year and they still put "yours?" On my packages and occasionally return to sender with out letting me know first. Depending on which person is working you'll usually have a good experience.
