- SMSimply MaeveJul 31, 20261.0If wasting customers' time were a competition, the North Vernon Post Office would win. My mail carrier handed me one package and said she left a notice in my mailbox because my other package was supposedly too big to fit in her vehicle. I took time off work to be at the post office during their hours, only to be told they had no idea where my package was. They asked me for the tracking number, but I only had her slip. They started looking around and finally realized the oversized package wasn't even addressed to me. So I took time off, drove to the post office, stood in line, and in the end, found out I didn’t even have a package there. The entire trip was because someone couldn’t keep track of whose package was whose. Apparently, reading an address and knowing who it belongs to is too much to ask if a mail carrier. Absolutely ridiculous. If you’re going to leave slips telling customers to pick up packages, at least make sure the package belongs to them before wasting their time. The level of incompetence at this post office is unbelievable.
