- SKSusan KoehnApr 23, 20261.0I would give them zero if I could. We just moved to.Lowell. My neighborhood has a block by block mail.individual delivery boxes along with outgoing mail drop off. So far in a 3 month period they have lost THREE bills we mailed one of which was my IRS tax payment. It has cost us three stop payment fees at $35 each.and a $250 fine for a late payment to the IRS. We went into.the post office to find out they do.not stamp the mail.as received. It goes to either Indy or Chicago where it gets stamped and from.there it gets delivered. The lady jokingly told us it takes on average an extra two or three weeks for your mail.to get where it is going. That is BS. I'll go back to the crown point post office to mail stuff because we have never had a problem with them.
- JFJesse ForresterJan 31, 20255.0I have done 50 transactions with the Lowell post office within the past 2 months. The staff inside is very nice and always helpful. Usually the line moves at a quick pace. Only time I have seen it stall was because a customer needed a ton of help and was asking a bunch of questions. If you have everything prepared and you go in during non peak times, then you are usually in and out of there in a minute or two. Lowell has a huge amount of real estate to cover with limited resources. I think they do a great job. My only dream ask is for a self service kiosk… it could help during the peak times for people who already have their stuff ready to rock. :)
