    I had an extremely disappointing experience at the UPS Store in Park Ridge and feel compelled to share it so other customers know what to expect. I visited this location because I needed to send important documents to Washington, D.C. for authentication. The instructions provided by the agency specifically stated that a return shipping label needed to be included so the authenticated documents could be sent back to me. Since UPS offers shipping and label creation services, I went to this location expecting a straightforward transaction. Unfortunately, the two women working at the counter were rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help from the moment I explained what I needed. Instead of listening and trying to assist, I was repeatedly told that creating a return label for the shipment was “not possible.” The explanation was delivered with an arrogant attitude that made me feel as though I was asking for something unreasonable, when in reality I was requesting a very basic shipping service. What frustrated me the most was not just being told “no,” but the complete lack of professionalism and customer service. There was no effort to understand the situation, offer alternatives, or even politely explain their position. The interaction felt dismissive and disrespectful. After leaving the Park Ridge location, I drove to another UPS Store. To my surprise, the staff there immediately understood what I needed, created the return label without hesitation, and completed the entire process in just a few minutes. There were no complications, no confusion, and certainly no attitude. The service was professional, efficient, and exactly what I expected when I first walked into the Park Ridge store. This experience makes it difficult to understand whether the employees at the Park Ridge location were improperly trained or simply unwilling to assist. Either way, customers should not be treated poorly when requesting a legitimate service that another UPS location can provide without any issue. As someone who regularly handles notarizations, apostilles, authentications, and document shipments for clients, I understand the importance of professionalism and accurate information. Being incorrectly told that a service is impossible, only to have it completed immediately at another UPS location, is both frustrating and unacceptable. I hope management reviews this feedback seriously and addresses both the customer service issues and the apparent lack of knowledge displayed during my visit. Respectful communication and a willingness to help customers should be the standard, not the exception. Based on my experience, I will not be returning to this location and cannot recommend it to others.

    Emily was exceptional! I usually go to the Des Plaines store but she wouldn’t open the door when I got there even tho I called. I rushed to Park Ridge and thanks to Emily my package went out that night and I found my new go to UPS store! She was positively amazing. Bravo!

    I had a disappointing experience at this UPS Store while trying to return three pairs of very expensive jeans I had purchased online. When I entered the store, the employee behind the counter took my package (40 year old, black hair man), weighed it, and opened the box without first explaining what he was doing. I was surprised and asked why he was opening my package. He replied that he needed to inspect what I was shipping and scan the items. Since the jeans themselves did not have individual barcodes for him to scan, I became concerned about how the return would be documented. After he generated a label and receipt, I asked how the jeans would be repackaged, and his response was, “I know how to do my job,” in what I perceived to be a surprisingly angry and dismissive tone. I told him that there was no reason to speak to me that way and asked for my jeans back. I decided not to ship the package through that store and left with my items. Perhaps the employee was having a difficult day, was tired, or simply frustrated—I don’t know. However, as a first-time customer, I expected a little more courteous interaction and better communication about the return process. A little patience and professionalism would have made a significant difference.
