I'm writing this review, cause I have a Allstate account, I just recently had my renters insurance renewed, and I have to say , not pleased that the things I work so hard to have accumulated, Allstate doesn't want to cover my items that I worked so hard on , I find this not ok , especially when we are paying a premium, to have our valued items , covered and insured, I'm all about finding a just cause of is what's right and just , when it comes to insured customers, Allstate sent me a bill of rights , online and if Businesses, Insurance Companies, did what was in the bill of rights , we wouldn't have these issues, problems " going forward " ...as a Customer we do have rights " ..and we have laws that protect our rights " ...I would like Allstate to look over their insurance policy " ..moving. forward, ...Thank You , Susan M ...

Update – May 19, 2026 (Two weeks later): Allstate finally responded to the Alabama Department of Insurance – but not to me. They claim they “did not ignore” my escalation request. Yet they asked me to email their CommunityCare team, and I did – on May 6. It is now May 19. I have received no response, no acknowledgment, no status update from CommunityCare or any executive. That is the definition of ignoring the person they asked to contact them. Their response to the ALDOI repeatedly frames the dispute as “a decision that was unacceptable to the contractor.” That is misleading. The real issues are: · While the roof was open and exposed, the original adjuster went completely non-responsive – forcing me, as a licensed home builder, to complete the roof at my own expense to protect the home. · That same adjuster suggested I mix old 3‑tab shingles with new architectural shingles – a dangerous, code‑violating, warranty‑voiding installation. He said it would be “ugly as hell” but I could still do it. · Allstate has ignored a detailed expert opinion from – a licensed home builder with 27+ years of experience who has served as an expert witness FOR Allstate. He concluded that decking replacement and General Contractor Overhead & Profit (10%+10%) are warranted. Allstate’s own ALDOI response admits they contacted the insured directly after I declined a phone call – because I am “not an official representative.” Yet they asked me to email CommunityCare in the first place. Two weeks of silence after asking me to reach out. A response to the ALDOI that blames the contractor. An adjuster who gave unsafe advice. An expert opinion ignored. Allstate is forcing binding appraisal over a small disputed amount. I will update this review when – or if – there is a resolution. I am a licensed Alabama Home Builder (License #27805‑c) . After the February 26, 2026 storms, I replaced a full roof for an Allstate policyholder at my own expense—over $27,000—because Allstate's adjuster went non-responsive while the roof was open and exposed. What Allstate refused to pay for (despite code and expert opinion): · Architectural shingles (required by 2018 building code for 115 mph wind zones) · Storm‑accelerated decking rot · General Contractor Overhead & Profit (10%+10% for managing 3+ trades) A serious safety issue: The adjuster suggested I leave old, non‑code-compliant shingles on half the roof and mix them with new shingles. This suggestion violates the 2018 IRC building code, voids manufacturer warranties, and creates a guaranteed leak point. No professional would ever do this. What we provided Allstate: · Local ordinance adopting the 2018 IRC (sent multiple times) · Expert opinion from a licensed home builder with 27+ years who has served as an expert witness FOR Allstate on several occasions · A good‑faith compromise proposal from the homeowner to avoid formal appraisal To homeowners: Document everything. Get expert opinions. File ALDOI complaints when necessary. Do not trust adjusters who go silent when your roof is open.

The most painful process ever. If you need to rent a car, don't book it with them. They claim that they have a partnership with Enterprise that allows you to have the 28 daily fee that they cover, but then for some reason when the bill comes it's higher than that. Note: I haven't change the car or anything when I went to pick up the car (this is what they claim of course) . They gave me a Malibu that is an intermediate car. To get the reimbursement? another nightmare, their Zelle fails for no reason. I really hope that I will receive a check via a mail in who knows when at this point. I'm so glad I'm not their customer (it was their insurer fault)... that is the only good think I can say about the overall experience

Roof got severly damaged during the winter storm in tennessee. Allstate won't replace, been months now and they fabricate backstories for its condition and do anything to avoid covering the entirety of the loss using weasel words to make the condition sound like its not covered. Paid them tens of thousands of dollars over the years and my first claim is getting filibustered and dragged out as the integrity of my home goes down hill with each passing weather event. Allstate is the new United Healthcare.

STOP. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT $200. Allstate is absolutely HORRIBLE. When I purchased my home 4 years ago, I went with the recommended coverage and policies from the agent. I remember feeling like I was “in good hands” throughout that conversation. Obviously that is no longer apart of their brand. Here we are today, after two back to back hail storms and significant damage to my roof which led to a leak inside of my master bedroom, my policy doesn’t cover the repairs. THE SAME POLICY THAT THEY TOLD ME TO GET. I was told it is not a sudden damage and it is the result of wear and tear. Does Allstate really think I’m going to climb on my roof and throw golfballs everywhere just for fun??? I had the nastiest experience with the insurance adjuster who laughed at my situation. I asked to speak to a supervisor to which someone did give me a call back the next day, only for them to recommend that I reach out to the seller/previous owner for warranty information. Because that was such an absurd request, I asked to speak to someone higher and was told that there is no other person. EVERYONE answers to someone. My request led to the supervisor being extremely short and rude. Please go elsewhere. You will spend years paying them thousands only for them to give you nothing. I already cancelled my auto insurance with allstate 2 years ago and I wish I would’ve done the same with my homeowner’s insurance. I am DEFINITELY moving elsewhere.
