  On Mon., 08/04/2026, I became aware of how dysfunctional the USPS had become. I had a simple transaction which was to get a refund on an USPS money order which I had purchased and was still in possession of. The retail counter clerk at the Maywood, IL USPS was not very helpful or customer service oriented. The clerk replied that I needed the original paper receipt for the purchase of the money order to get a refund. I expressed that I had never been requested to provide the receipt before to get a refund for an USPS money order before that I had purchased and was in possession of. Like a parrot, the clerk just repeated the same answer. At this point, I just left as it was fruitless. I did not have the patience to go the route of asking to speaking to her manager, even though, I knew what the clerk had told me was “garbage”. Needless to say, I was able to complete the refund of the money order at a USPS in Wheaton, IL without any trouble and a smile. The Wheaton USPS simply asked for my identification and validated the money order through their computers. It sad that USPS has deteriorated to a point of where there is no uniformity and lack of consistency across locations. It is apparent that you have to go to certain USPS locations to receive quality service and a positive outcome.

  These people don't return calls!! They will say ANYTHING to get you off the telephone! They sweep issues under the rug! Management don't handle their workers when their workers get out of line. I've been trying to call them for weeks. If they do call back. It's to sweep it under the rug as if they've done something. Sad I've had to contact the USPS Complaints office, only to get the CORRECT information fron the complaints office, as well as put in a double complaint fora missing check in the mail! The postal inspector last name Spencer, gives misinformation. Extremely nasty attitude. Speak to you any type of way. Don't take responsibility for ANYTHING‼️🤬🤦🏾‍♀️ If I could give this postal service negative zero stars I would. This is a disgrace.

  amazon package is missing for the 3rd time. one time the microwave was lost but after intervention it was found the other two times no packages were found. it was delivered to the facility but never made it to my work place. I will never use this post office again, I rather pick it up at Amazon Fresh store.

  I have been living in Maywood for about 3 years and we start noticing that less mail we have .And I lost one time a package, well not a big deal ... whatever. Until now I was expecting a government letter (very important for me) and I was tracking it. But it shows, it was delivered. I went personally to the post office and they just told me it was delivered. But how come? , that they don’t even have a signature, or even have evidence from where it was delivered. This is not professional
