- BTBrandon ThomasApr 30, 20261.0Absolutely terrible experience with Dick’s Sporting Goods and the third-party installation company they use which is ait I purchased a basketball hoop and paid for installation, and it has been nothing but a complete nightmare ever since. The contractor picked up my hoop and then never delivered or installed it. I’ve been given the runaround for days with missed timeframes, excuses, and zero accountability. The district manager, Joe longfellow avoids phone calls and will only text likely because he knows how bad this situation is. I was even told the installer was “injured,” yet I personally saw him at Dick’s Sporting Goods the same day picking up another hoop for someone else. That alone tells you everything about the honesty and integrity you’re dealing with here. The contractors they use are completely unreliable—no-shows, no communication, and no respect for customers’ time or money. What’s worse is this doesn’t seem like a one-off issue. After dealing with this, I looked into reviews and found many other customers saying the exact same thing. It’s hard to understand why Dick’s continues to partner with a company that consistently delivers such poor service. At this point, I’ve had to move forward with a police report just to try and get my property back. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration DO NOT use Dick’s Sporting Goods for installation services, and be very cautious dealing with their third-party contractors. One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
