I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at this post office.
On Friday, I stayed home all day waiting for an important device to be delivered. I never heard a knock, a doorbell, or any attempt whatsoever to actually deliver the package. Later that afternoon, I found a notice saying delivery failed because no one was home and that I needed to come pick it up. That is simply unacceptable. I was home the entire time.
The next day, Saturday around noon, I went to pick it up. I was told they did not have it and that I “came too early,” and I was told to come back on Monday.
So on Monday, I changed my work schedule and came back again. This time, I was told they still did not have it and that I “came too late.” Seriously? First I came too early, then I came too late? This is ridiculous.
The staff then told me to come back again the next day. I explained multiple times that I am leaving the country for a business trip in two days and will not be back for a month. I asked whether they could guarantee that the package would actually be available if I came back the next day. Instead of answering, the staff ignored me, dismissed my question, and told me to leave so they could help other customers.
I asked again what time I should come and whether I could actually receive the package on my third visit. They refused to give me a clear answer and continued to brush me off. Their facial expressions, tone, and attitude were rude, dismissive, and insulting. I felt completely disrespected.
This entire situation is outrageous. The carrier apparently did not knock or ring the bell and simply left a notice claiming nobody was home. Then the post office notice said the package would be available on 5/16, but when I went there on both 5/16 and 5/18, the staff repeatedly told me they did not have it and sent me away.
Every part of this experience was unacceptable: the failed delivery attempt, the inaccurate pickup notice, the contradictory excuses from the staff, and the openly disrespectful treatment I received in person.
This was truly the worst customer service experience I have ever had. If there is any legal action available for this level of negligence and mistreatment, I would seriously consider taking it.

Definitely don’t recommend this place the lady closed the location early she left the gate open but wouldn’t let anyone through if someone asked to do something she’d say do it on the kiosk. Had a attitude too

I'm a huge advocate for the postal service. They provide a great service for the country as a whole.
I used to come here once a week as I shipped online often. The same woman who's some type of supervisor and gentleman are always there.
To say this location is SHOCKING is an understatement. I have witnessed these employees straight up harass people on so many occasions it's frankly like no where I've ever experienced. To the point where I would dread coming here as there's conflict happening with the employees 90% of the time.
There's a certain aspect of people treating customer service workers poorly, but this is wildly different. I was a store manager for 7+ years. If one of my employees did a fraction of what they do on a daily basis, they would have never made it past day one.
On the flip side, the gentleman at the downtown Des plaines post office is WONDERFUL. It's a short drive, while the parking isnt as super convenient, it's worth any extra drive or inconvience to not step inside this insane place. Seriously he's so good, consider taking the small extra drive.
Seriously guys, get it together. You guys make Des plaines look bad. I can't believe you can sleep at night the way you treat people. This goes way past being "rude". It's straight up mean.
