My package was refused because I used colored packing tape to seal the box (the shipping label was not covered). I have not been able to find any USPS policy prohibiting colored packing tape, and other USPS locations have accepted packages prepared the same way. The employee at the counter was rude and offered little explanation or assistance. Since other nearby post offices have accepted identical packages without issue, I would recommend using one of those instead. (Geneva, St. Charles, etc.)

Truth is, I can’t really say much about the desk people; I never had to interact with them. But me and my toddler are regulars here due to my little resale shop I have online. Anyways, we always have a good experience: never a line, always able to process and ship my items quickly with the kiosk(super easy to use) , which my son loves . And he loves coming here with me, so overall, 5 stars!

I went in to drop off a package that had a prepaid label. It was a bit large, so I planned to drop it off at the desk as to not jam the box. I went in, set the box on the desk, and the employee immediately said “your tape is wrong.” I use purple shipping tape. Per their website, the color of the tape doesn’t matter as long as it isn’t duct tape. I have shipped 100+ packages with this tape with no issues. I pointed this out to her. She then said I “skipped the line.” The employee was conversing with someone separately who was not a customer. I reiterated that I was just dropping it off, and that she can scan it whenever she gets to it. She repeated herself, at which point I left and dropped it in the box in the lobby. I’m at a Post Office multiple times per week to drop off packages. I’ve never had an issue with an employee being upset about me dropping off, line or not. At other post offices, namely Lisle, they’ll have a whole separate counter for drop offs to get people in and out quickly. Based on the other posts and reviews, I believe I interacted with Rhonda/Ronda. She was ready to start an argument the moment I walked in.

Worst post office out here. The mail delivery drivers are the laziest.
