I had a couple pre-labeled packages to drop off that I really preferred having a printed receipt for so I could provide proof of shipment. The guy at the counter told me to just leave the packages on the counter and when I asked for a receipt he very rudely replied "it will be a while". I wasn't sure why (they weren't busy) and he didn't explain so I just walked out without my receipt. This was my first time using the Grinnell post office and the last.

Multiple times I have had my packages delivered either to the wrong mail box, or they'll say that my package has been delivered to my front door, only to come home to find that it wasn't even delivered. I have called them on these occasions, have given them my phone number when they say that they'll give me a call, only to NEVER get a call back from them pertaining to the whereabouts of the missing packages. It gets really frustrating, especially when I'm at work when packages get delivered. March 9, 2024- Update: STILL deserves the 1 star rating. Now the post office delivery driver is too lazy to unlock the front door of the apartment buildings to deliver people's packages to them. The excuse they use is that they could not access the door. There is NO SNOW, NO GATE. Only a door. And they have no excuse to not be able to get inside of the building because they have a key to unlock the front door to the building. Just unlock the door and place the packages inside next to the door if you don't feel like walking up stairs. FedEx does it!! Don't use the "Can't access the door" excuse when you have a damn key!!! March 9th 2024: According to the email I received, it has been delivered to a parcel locker. Essentially it means that I have to wait till Monday morning, when the post office opens, to find out where EXACTLY they put my packages so that I have them. Can't wait for them to tell me to get ahold of Amazon again to replace them, even when I never ordered from Amazon. Not every package you guys lose is from AMAZON!!

The few times I've been down here were a mixed bag. Sometimes my packages were located quickly, other times the line got bogged down.

We have had nothing but problems with our mails for the past 3 YEARS. I have called and complained several times and nothing has been taken care of...the wrong mail gets put in the wrong boxes here at the apartment complex and more than that people off of the highway a few miles out has even received our mail and brought it to us. Now here recently W2s have been getting into the wrong peoples hands and a lot of my residents are mad. Not sure if the whole town is this way but the guy doing ours needs to find a new job.
