  This USPS in Cedar Rapids let our 10 baby chicks die, plain and simple. You may have never had chicks shipped before, and you might ask yourself, "What the heck?" I'll tell you. USPS is the only avenue allowed to ship live animals, and generally, it's pretty smooth. The hatchery ships them within 24 hours of the day they hatch, in a small box with a tiny warmer, generally on a Monday. They live for about 72 hours on the nutrients received by their momma, which is how they survive shipping, and it also is about how long it takes to get them to their destination. There isn't much room for error. Instead of taping the box shut like most packages, they staple it shut so they can breathe, because the air holes are taped from the inside so they don't get too cold in transport. The box is VERY CLEARLY MARKED that there are live chicks inside. Once the box gets to your local post office, they call you for pickup, because your phone number is written very clearly on the outside of the box. In this case, you can see by the tracking screenshot attached, A very quick 20 hours after they were shipped from Mississippi, they had gone to Tennessee, and were received at this Cedar Rapids post office. At that point, there were about 50 hours to get it the 3 hours it would have taken to drive from that post office to ours. It took them THREE DAYS. If they had called the number on the box, we could have driven there to pick them up and they'd have been alive. We knew they would be dead when they arrived, because we checked the tracking number about a thousand times and it was not updating from cedar rapids. All of a sudden, we got a call from our local post office yesterday morning that they were there and there was no sound all coming from the box. These babies were not placed in a box for you to just ignore them and let them die, USPS. They were placed in that box to be taken care of by my family. DO BETTER.

  I ordered from shein and I swear usps just has tracking issues even put my address as vacant. So now I'm going to go there today on my birthday and hopefully get my packages that are supposed to be there still.

  Worst postal office in Cedar Rapids! They said they made a attempt to deliver a package but not once did I hear the door ring and they didn’t even leave a ticket on the door, luckily enough I have informed delivery and seen the lie!! To make matters worse there the only post office in Cedar Rapids that closes earliest on Saturday and it’s live food for my reptile!!!
