- DTDakota TysselingApr 13, 20231.0Our mailbox is across the highway just over a hill and I simply asked to move it to our side of the highway or preferably directly across from where it is now to our driveway (like our neighbors to the east and west both have) for obvious safety reasons and was originally told its up to the carrier by supervisor Jason. The carrier didn’t want to move it even though he was passing by our house before going to the neighbors across the road. When calling a second and third time to request it be moved (after the county came out and replaced the post for the mailbox due to it being hit by the county plows because it’s in a bad spot) I was told that it can’t be moved directly across the highway to our driveway due to “line of travel”. It’s literally like 10 feet away and they can pull directly into our drive and turn around easily. When it’s windy I can’t see (due to the hill) or hear if there are cars coming and people DO NOT slow down or get over. I made such a small request to keep everyone, including the mail carrier, safe and all they care about is the “extra” mileage to literally pull in our driveway where there’s plenty of room to safely turn around (just as they do when they deliver our packages). Thanks for the great customer service. 👌
