It can get a bit busy at times, especially around peak hours, but overall it provides the standard postal services you expect with fairly quick service. A solid choice for mailing and shipping in Ames.

My Mom's house (Idaho Ave) has the same house number as a street right down the road (Oklahoma Ave), and my apartment (Delaware Ave) has the same number as the complex across the street (North Dakota)...we get mail at least once a week that belongs at the other complex. And when having items delivered to my Mom's they can end up at the other house and sometimes those people don't give them back for months! It's an honest mistake, but it happens too often. Otherwise- I love this location and the people that work here
