- EBEm BJul 19, 20261.0I have never seen anything like what I witnessed at the Evans Post Office. The outdoor mail receptacle was so overflowing with envelopes that letters were literally falling back out of the slot as people tried to mail them. It wasn’t just inconvenient, it was alarmingly disturbing. Those envelopes represent tax-paying citizens’ bills, legal documents, payments, medical information, ballots, and other time-sensitive correspondence. An overflowing collection box suggests that scheduled pickups were not being performed as they should have been, creating an unnecessary risk of lost, delayed, damaged, or even stolen mail. That is an unacceptable liability for an agency entrusted with handling some of the public’s most important communications.This is a basic operational irresponsibility. Collection boxes should be emptied frequently enough to prevent exactly this situation. I hope management addresses this promptly, reviews collection schedules, and ensures this does not happen again. The community deserves a postal service that takes seriously its obligation to safeguard the mail entrusted to it.
