  I visited this post office to purchase certified mail services for important time-sensitive documents. When I arrived, the retail counter was closed, but there was no sign posted on the outside or inside informing customers that the office was not providing counter service. I was standing in the hallway where the P.O. Boxes are located and could clearly hear an employee talking in the back. I knocked on the door several times before she finally opened it and told me she was sorting mail. While I understand that staffing shortages happen, that does not excuse the complete lack of communication or customer service. If the retail counter cannot be staffed, customers should at least be informed with clear signage instead of being left wondering whether anyone is available. As I was walking back to my car, another customer approached. I told him the counter was closed, and his immediate response was, “Again?” He told me the same thing had happened to him the previous day, that he had already filed a complaint, and encouraged me to do the same. The USPS provides an essential public service. If staffing issues require the retail counter to close temporarily, customers deserve clear communication and basic courtesy. A simple sign explaining the situation and directing customers to the nearest open location would have prevented a wasted trip and unnecessary frustration. I hope management addresses this issue so customers are not repeatedly inconvenienced.

  I brought in a package to be shipped and was told I needed to buy my own tape because they don’t tape peoples packages for them. That’s the first time I’ve heard that. The customer service here is sadly never good.

  No package drop off receptacle, just for regular letters. 👎🏻
