To get a document notarized, they’re charging $11 for every page, which is insane ($2 for the signature, $3 convenience fee, and $6 for the notary). Other places charge just $3 as a convenience fee for the entire transaction and $2 for each signature. if you want to get notarized for 10 pages, you have to pay $110. This is insane—pure looting!.

I’m a returning customer to this UPS store. I usually stop in for happy returns, printing, shredding, and my passport photo. Today I came in for notary services today and the store was so well kept as usual and organized. There is almost never a line thanks to the kiosk they have to help customers with drop offs and returns. The workers are nice and informative and the prices are more than fair.

I would NOT recommend this UPS Store for notary services. I came in to have ONE affidavit printed and notarized and was charged $27. I paid the $27 because I needed the document completed, but both the pricing and the experience were ridiculous. I’ve had documents printed and notarized at multiple other UPS Store locations and have never experienced pricing like this. At my local UPS Store, even when I have them print the document AND notarize it, my total is usually around $7. I live in a $1 million home, and the homes throughout my surrounding area are generally $1 million and up, yet my local UPS Store still manages to provide printing and notary services for around $7. So I don’t find the location, cost of doing business, or “overhead” to be a convincing explanation for why this location charged me $27 for one printed affidavit and one notarization. What made the situation worse was the customer service. The employee assisting me told me she was in training and initially gave me the wrong price. I was ultimately given two different prices. I repeatedly asked if they were sure about what I was being charged specifically because I was receiving conflicting information. The woman who appeared to be the manager/owner and was training her was dismissive rather than simply explaining the pricing professionally. After leaving, I read the other reviews and realized that I am far from the first customer to question this location’s notary pricing. Another customer even posted a receipt showing a $2 notary charge followed by additional charges such as a “Notary Convenience Fee” and “Notary Oath.” I also saw the owner’s response to another customer defending the location’s higher pricing by referencing “high-quality materials, expert labor, and overhead expenses necessary to deliver exceptional products and services.” That justification is especially difficult to understand after the experience I received. Where was the “expert labor” when the employee assisting me openly stated she was in training, initially gave me incorrect pricing, and I ultimately received two different prices? Where was the “exceptional service” when the person training her had a dismissive attitude when I asked reasonable questions about why the price had changed? And as far as “high-quality materials” and overhead are concerned, my document was simply printed and notarized. Again, my regular UPS Store provides me with printing AND notarization for around $7. The difference between approximately $7 and $27 needs a much better explanation than “overhead.” According to Georgia’s official notary guidance, the authorized notarial fee is $2 per notarial act. I understand that businesses may impose separate service or convenience charges, but when additional charges turn a basic notarial service into a $27 transaction, customers deserve clear and consistent pricing before the service is completed. And before this location responds the way it has responded to other reviewers by pointing out that someone left without continuing to complain: yes, I paid and left. I had already questioned the price multiple times, received conflicting information, and had other things to do. I am not required to stand inside a UPS Store and argue in order for my experience to be legitimate. I paid the $27, left, and decided that I simply will not return. My problem isn’t only the price. It’s the combination of a $27 charge for something that costs me around $7 elsewhere, inconsistent pricing information, lack of transparency, an employee being trained who was not able to give me accurate pricing, and a dismissive attitude from the person training her. If you’re considering this location for a notary, call around first and ask for the TOTAL cost, including printing and every additional notary, convenience, oath, attestation, or service fee. The difference can apparently be substantial. Charging premium prices while providing a less-than-premium experience isn’t justified simply by calling it “overhead,” “high-quality materials,” or “expert labor.”
