  I'm leaving this review in the hope that I get an explanation. If I do receive an explanation I will delete this review. Tracking 1ZH923E90348648610 I was in the store today to ship a large package. 24x24x16 and about 50 lbs, valued at $500. On the UPS Store web site I received an estimate of $95, without the $500 coverage. On the UPS web site I received an estimate of $103 with the coverage. David said the cost to ship was $192.52. I gave him the quote from the web site and he said "I just work here, I don't know nothing about rates". Foolishly I went ahead and paid the money to ship, got my receipt and left. When I got home I called UPS. Long story short, they said "A UPS Store is a franchise and they can charge whatever they want". Unbelievable. OK, I get it. There has to be an upcharge for the store front, the employees, etc. But double? That seems excessive to me. But I may be missing something. I now know I need to create a UPS account and print my own labels. I don't ship UPS often but when I do the packages are large and I am getting worked over. I feel stupid about today but I also feel used. A 100% surcharge for the value add provided by the UPS store is just criminal. Never again.... Message to Store Owner- I DID estimate my shipping costs online, as I clearly explained in my message. My estimate was also ACCURATE. I had the weight and the dimensions correct. I used both the UPS Store estimation tool and the UPS web site estimation tool. Both sites gave me estimates of $100 less than you charged in your store. Are you saying that your store routinely charges 100% higher rates than those provided as estimates by both the UPS Store and parent UPS? Please answer that question for me.

  Jamelia was great! She help me get my package boxed up and shipped. I was impressed with how patient she was with all the customers as busy as a store was. I could not believe how efficient they were with all the customers coming in shipping packages. Thanks MF
