To call it poor service would be an insult to poor service.
I had scheduled a passport appointment at 12:00 noon for my daughter. We walked into the government services waiting area of the post office at 12 :00 noon exactly. Even the clock on the screen in the waiting area said 12:00.
After making us wait for 15 minutes and having spoken to people who had no appointment as they walked in but having ignored us when we walked in, an arrogant, abrasive postal employee asks if we had an appointment, to which I say we did at 12:00, and they proceed to say "well, you're late".
I explained that no, we were there exactly at 12:00, and they chuckle dismissively and say that we were not, that they were there at 12:00 and only saw this other woman in the waiting area, and I said we were there at 12:00 and we were on time and they insist that we were not, even though I mentioned that the clock on the screen in the waiting area read 12:00, and they just said they didn't know what clock that was, that they do this everyday. And the only option they gave us was to add us to the walk-in list which started at 1:00.
Ridiculous. We had an appointment. We were there on time and made to wait, and then we were told lies (that we were late) and that we could be added to a walk-in wait list instead of being provided the service we had scheduled in a timely fashion.
Anyone who's been to that office will know who I'm referring you to. A tall employee with short hair and glasses who speaks to adults as if they were lecturing disobedient children despite being the one in the wrong.
This person has no business facing the public and belongs in a back room somewhere where they can never again inflict their hostility on the US taxpayer while getting paid to provide service.

So you’re telling me that after waiting in line for AN HOUR (because they only have one employee working at the main distribution center for the city) my very expensive wedding invitations, that I specifically asked to be hand cancelled (hence waiting in line) were just simply NOT hand cancelled and just run through the machine and practically destroyed? What a wonderful example of your customer service.

I don’t typically leave reviews, but this experience really stood out—and not in a good way.
Sabrina’s approach to customer service was, at best, dismissive and, at worst, openly condescending. Asking for basic assistance felt like an inconvenience to her, and her tone made that very clear. Professionalism seems to have taken the day off, because courtesy and respect were noticeably absent.
If the goal was to make customers feel unwelcome or talked down to, then mission accomplished. Otherwise, there’s a serious gap between what customer service should be and what was delivered here.
Hopefully this is something management takes seriously, because interactions like this reflect poorly on the entire establishment.
