  I★★☆☆☆ They are very fast at responding and providing quotes, and I appreciated that. My initial conversation with the marketing manager was also pleasant. The book printing quote was considerably higher than the Amazon KDP pricing I shared with him. I understand that businesses have different costs and deserve a fair profit. Because I wanted to support a local business, I asked about a smaller order: printing just the covers and providing them to me. That is when his attitude changed. He adamantly said, “No, no,” and told me they would either print the entire book or not do the job. Given the timing and tone, I felt this refusal was made out of pettiness because I had questioned the full book price. It felt like declining the larger order meant my smaller order was no longer welcome. What bothered me was the entitlement behind that response. Supporting a local business should not mean feeling obligated to accept an expensive quote just to be treated respectfully. I made an effort to find a way to do business with them, and instead felt pushed away. Today, I needed covers. Tomorrow, I could have brought them a complete printing project. His comment that I could come back if I changed my mind about the full order only reinforced that impression. I wish you the best, Minuteman Press. I hope this interaction leads to more respectful communication with future customers, including those whose first purchase may be a smaller one.
