Currently standing in a long line of people being ignored as the whole staff takes a lunch at the same time

I went to the Dania post office to apply for my passport, with an appointment scheduled for 12:00 PM. Despite having an appointment, there was an extremely long line and I had to wait about two hours before it was finally my turn.
When I finally reached the counter, an employee named Matthew allowed two people who had just arrived to go ahead of everyone else, without giving any valid explanation or showing respect for those of us who had been waiting in line for hours. In addition, another staff member, whose role I do not know, spoke to the people waiting in a very rude manner, simply telling us to “wait.”
I find this kind of behavior unacceptable. Not only was there a very long wait despite having an appointment, but there was also a complete lack of respect for customers and for the order of the line. The staff was very impolite and unprofessional. Very disappointing experience.

We had an incredible experience today all thanks to Matthew who helped us with our passports. He was incredibly professional. I was concerned about the state of this building. You can see the mold, the paint peeling and baseboards falling off the walls. Our post office workers deserve better working conditions than this.

Unfortunately, one star is the minimum rating available.
We had a scheduled passport appointment for our child and realized immediately upon arrival that we were missing a required document. We live less than five minutes away, retrieved the document right away, and returned within minutes. Despite this—and despite the facility being completely empty—staff refused to assist us.
What is particularly unacceptable is that employees spent approximately 10–15 minutes arguing with us about policy instead of using that same time to complete the appointment. This was not a matter of timing or workload; it was a clear refusal to exercise even basic judgment or customer service.
We had taken our child out of school specifically for this appointment and respectfully asked for a brief accommodation. That request was denied without any attempt to help or provide a reasonable solution. The interaction ultimately ended with staff disengaging and walking away, which is entirely inappropriate in a customer-facing setting.
This experience demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for customers’ time. If this is the standard of service being upheld, it is deeply concerning.

Every time I have to go to this USPS location, it’s a terrible experience. The two clerks are consistently in a bad mood, provide poor customer service, and take an extremely long time to assist customers. It’s very clear they are unhappy to be there, and unfortunately that shows in how they treat people.
To make matters worse, they go to lunch at the same time, leaving the office closed with just a sign on the door saying when they’ll be back. That’s simply not acceptable for a place that provides essential services.
The last time I visited, the situation was even worse. The two employees were arguing because neither of them wanted to help customers. On top of that, one of them just walked away from the counter and never came back.
I’m writing this in the hope that management takes action to improve the service at this location. Some services are not optional, and customers shouldn’t have to deal with this level of unprofessionalism.
