  Extremely disappointing and disrespectful treatment of a disabled veteran. I am a 100% P&T (Permanent & Total) disabled veteran dealing with severe, chronic medical conditions that require my medications to arrive on time. My medication is shipped by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) pharmacy in a temperature-controlled/frozen package to this UPS Store for pickup. Before coming to the store, I specifically contacted my VA facility and was told that the shipment was fully prepaid and that I should not be responsible for any additional fees upon pickup. The package itself is also clearly marked as prepaid. When I arrived to pick up my medically necessary medication, I was nevertheless told that I would have to pay an additional fee of just to receive the package. I explained the situation and that this was medication being sent by the VA, but unfortunately, I my concerns were completely disregarded. I was eventually forced to leave without my medication and the personnel (including manager) acted way too disrespectful. This is especially upsetting when dealing with time-sensitive medications and serious chronic medical conditions. Veterans who rely on the VA for their medications should not have to come to a UPS location and be unexpectedly confronted with fees that the VA were already paid. I have been a longtime UPS customer and have significant investments in UPS-related accounts/investments, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I genuinely expected better from a company of this size. This is not about fees. It’s about how customers, especially disabled veterans receiving medically necessary medication, are treated. I hope UPS review what happened and provide a clear explanation of why a prepaid VA shipment was subject to an additional pickup fee. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location.
