I rented a uhaul from the Mailbox store in New Castle on Friday 7/31. During the time that I was renting the uhaul, my account was flagged, in which I called uhaul customer service to get it rectified. When I gave Elaine my debit card, in her hand, she returned my card to me placing it down on the counter instead of the way that she received it. This was very rude! I left the store with the uhaul and on 8/1 it broke down with my items in it. The uhaul had to be towed and I got another from Governor Printz Blvd. That uhaul wasn’t available for 2-3 hours, which inconvenienced my move for the coming days. Elaine gave me a call about returning the uhaul that came from Governor Printz, in which I wasn’t aware that it needed to go back to the mailbox store. Due to the inconvenience, I didn’t have movers available until 8/5. However on 8/3 my uhaul was extended. On 8/4, Elaine gave me a call regarding the return of the Uhaul. I was waiting to hear back from uhauls managerial office because of the cost of everything and being inconvenienced, but I hadn’t heard from anyone. When Elaine called me, I missed the first call, tried to answer for the second but my phone wouldn’t connect. The third phone call I was able to get it to go through, but Elaine didn’t hear that I picked up. She proceeded to say to someone in the background that I was “playing games”. Knowing the inconvenience that I experienced, I felt as if she could have been more empathetic for her failed equipment. I woke up this morning to being charged $350 for the rental, including mileage for 94 miles when I had to go 30 minutes away to retrieve my items. Yes uhaul has to handle everything now, but the start was the rudeness with my debit card and the broke down uhaul. My plan is to never frequent this store again, I don’t care about a response to this review, but I hope this women’s energy is much kinder and more welcome moving forward!
