I get it you work in Westport and people are probably insufferable around here but holy! The guy working behind the counter is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. The moment we walked in you could tell he was looking for confrontation. Saying “good morning” will be taken as a personal affront to him. Scrooge hides in the back and stares at you like you’re about to commit a crime. Yelled at my mother because she needed help printing an address label, IN A POST OFFICE... One of those interactions where you just stand there thinking, “what is happening right now?” Absolutely bizarre.

Seems like a recurring problem (after reading other reviews). Though clearly advertised, walk-in passport services are not honored. When asked why, you are met with a rude, overly defensive response. I brought my infant in to submit his application (which was already completed through 3rd party hello.gov service) and employee (clerk #16) claimed he had no access to the system and all passport appointments were cancelled today. Showed up at 2PM (beginning of advertised walk-in window of 2pm-3pm) to an empty post office, and two unwilling clerks that seemed interested in doing anything but their job. TLDR; don’t waste your time with Westport Post Office, go somewhere else. @WestportPostOffice maybe it’s time to just not offer the service? Will save a lot of people unnecessary hassle in their busy lives.

Ruben is the absolute rudest USPS employee there. He refused to take my outgoing certified mail and told me to go to another branch. He should be fired for his lack of professionalism.

Went today to mail a few boxes to friends and was immediately met with hostility and aggression by their employee Ruben. Not sure what was going on with his day, perhaps he was tired or something, but I’ve never encountered anything like this at this post office before. He was the only one working, so I couldn’t move to another individual for assistance. If he’s the only one there when you arrive, just be ready for a shocking amount of combativeness over nothing right off the bat.

Truly awful experience. This is by far the most unprofessional and incompetent USPS office I have dealt with. To begin with, the employees showed no basic manners or respect — not even a simple “hello.” What made the experience even worse was our child’s passport appointment. We arrived beforehand yet were dismissed as always and then with 15 minutes still remaining for the appointment, we were refused service ( for the 3rd time). Then my husband was told to come back the next day ALONE with the minor, even though both parents are generally required for a child’s passport appointment unless proper documentation is provided. The staff clearly did not understand their own regulations. Because of their mistakes and misinformation, we are now left fixing a situation they created. It honestly makes me wonder whether employees receive any proper training on customer service, professionalism, or even the basic rules related to their job responsibilities.
