I visited the post office to mail a package and selected a decorative mailing box that was displayed in an area labeled mailer with pricing around $2 and some change. However, when USPS employee, name starting with S, scanned the item at the register, it rang up as over $4. Since the pricing displayed did not appear to match the amount at the register, I politely asked if she would mind verifying the price. There was no line behind me at the time, and I asked the question calmly and respectfully. S. immediately appeared irritated by my request. She made grumbling noises under her breath and walked angrily from behind the counter to the display area. She then explained in a harsh and condescending tone that the decorative box I selected was different from the bubble mailers nearby and that they were not the same type of product. I understood that I had selected a box, which is why I had asked for clarification regarding why it was placed in the display area labeled with the lower mailer pricing. As a customer who does not work for USPS, I would not reasonably know the internal distinctions between certain packaging products, especially when they are displayed together under similar signage. S. then continued to scold and belittle me in front of other employees. I responded by calmly telling her that it was not appropriate to speak to me in that manner and that I was simply asking a reasonable question about the pricing. At that point, S. became even more upset and told me to “shut up.” She then began yelling that I needed to leave and stated that I was not allowed to complete my transaction at her register. The interaction caused me significant distress, and the other USPS employees behind the counter visibly witnessed my reaction, including my hands shaking. Another USPS employee, whose first name began with the letter “H,” informed the manager on duty, identified by the initials D.M., about the situation. D.M. approached me and told me to write down the incident on a piece of paper, but he did not apologize, ask whether I was okay, or appear concerned about the way I had been treated. His demeanor was short, dismissive and uninterested in hearing me being very upset about what just happened to me at a location under his supervision. S. was then allowed to continue working immediately afterward without any visible corrective action or asked to go home. What was most upsetting was not simply the pricing confusion, but the way I was verbally spoken to and publicly humiliated for asking a reasonable customer service question. Being told to “shut up” by a USPS employee in front of staff and customers was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. I believe customers should be able to ask polite questions about pricing discrepancies without fear of being yelled at, belittled, or verbally disrespected. Additionally, D.M. was present on the other side of the wall right next to where S. was when she was yelling at me and telling me to "Shut Up." He would have had to be deaf not to hear her himself. Imagine if you were at McDonalds and you ask about the price differences in the meals and the person at the register yells at you for asking then tells you to shut up. Do you really think a Manager would allow that person to still work there the rest of the night? Do you really think they would then be short with the customer and ask them to just write down your complaint as if it was something minor? What has this world come to?

PO at 18555 E Smoky Hill Rd. Aurora, CO 80015 HAS BEEN AWFUL FOR YEARS! I went again this AM at 8:30 am & the line was 11 people in front of me with ONE (1) clerk at the counter! The people in front of me were very mad as I was & we chatted & all agreed how this PO is ALWAYS understaffed & the service is AWFUL! I left & went to FED EX instead. Every time I've been here it's been awful! Doesn't even deserve 1 star. GET WITH IT POSTAL SERVICE! I may write the Pres of the US about this

I went by the post office today because somebody had broken into my mailbox. The supervisor Malcohlm was extremely kind and helpful. Even though he was very busy helping other people he took the time that I needed and focused on my issue and helped me tremendously. I think he is a great access to the United States Post Office he was at the Smoky Hill Branch which covered zip codes 80016 and 80015. Thank you sir for your kindness it goes a long long way. Sorry if I misspelled your name. Lynn

Every time. It’s 5-10” per person (I kid you not, I timed each person at the counter & there was only 1 clerk, which is not uncommon at this location). Every time. There are no less than 8 people in line. Do the math. It’s AWFUL. I believe people are desperate or first timers to be in the line here. I used to go to my old USPS in Northfield to avoid this place. Because it’s a drive, I give in, hoping this time will be different at Smoky Hill, but it’s not. I’ve tried at opening (lined up because others have the same idea), midday, just before close, it doesn’t matter, it is always a miserable experience. I’ve finally settled on driving down to the Parker USPS because it’s the next closest & I get consistently faster assistance and less stress! I wish, wish, wish USPS would address the customer service / wait time issues at this location! Or open another branch in the area.
