I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding an interaction I had today with an employee named Joel. His conduct was both dismissive and unprofessional when I sought assistance. While I acknowledge that the postal service may face staffing challenges, I am concerned about how an individual exhibiting such behavior remains employed at the USPS. My objective was to send an international package. Joel informed me that this service was unavailable at the Carbondale location and directed me to Glenwood. My understanding is that most post offices offer similar services, with the exception of passport processing. Furthermore, Joel declined to review the information displayed on the screen, stating that it was irrelevant as they are not evaluated on such metrics. He also prevented me from reviewing the on-screen information myself. This raises concerns about potential mishandling, particularly if the package contained hazardous materials, as he appeared to make assumptions about its contents without proper verification. As a result of this encounter, I now feel compelled to visit my bank tomorrow to verify that no unauthorized transactions were processed, as I was not permitted to properly navigate or even view the transaction details on the screen. The continued employment of individuals exhibiting such behavior contributes to the negative perception of the postal service. Joel also falsely claimed he could not complete my transaction, necessitating an 80-mile round trip to Glenwood, where I was informed his statement was incorrect. This situation is entirely unacceptable.

Im not one to write reviews but, feel like I need too. This staff(at least the three that tried to help me), are very rude. I understand it's a busy job but, you signed up for it. Try to treat people well, even if you are in a pissed off mood. Over the past month since my incident, I have used other post offices in the area & they are all great!

Literally 10 times this year not even attempting to deliver my packages to me, marking them as "attempted delivery made", and sending them back. They've NEVER made one attempt. I've got cameras! Terrible service. No staff. To the people on top ..This place needs to clean house! Replace this staff.
