  Lovely women...so sorry the general public is so unhinged and unmedicated. The barrier to entry here is nothing so you ladies deal with it ALL! Keep up the good work!

  It’s not like the USPS or this location needs one more negative review but heads up. The latest US Postmaster General (and presidential donor) instituted a new rule in 2026 that local post offices no longer date stamp mail, it is date stamped at the local distro center, in our case Downtown LA. That means you could mail something on the 1st & it could sit at the distro center for days & postmarked the 3rd, 4th etc. Your recipient can say late by the postmark if its time sensitive. However you can request a manual time stamp at the local post office. So I typically only mail a couple of checks a month & found out the hard way that mail going 10 miles away can sit for days downtown. Also 3 checks over a year, never made it at all to their destination to two different locations. Another issue completely. A certified mail with a check never made it from SM to Westwood. So I now ask for a manual stamp since paying $6 for certified is a crap shoot. Yesterday I asked to take a photo of the envelope with the stamp & was told “we’ll let you this time, but that’s not allowed”. Enough said. Free. No evidence.

  The staff at this location are so incredibly rude and their rudeness is completely unwarranted. They asked for me to sign for something on the card reader and the electronic pen wasn’t working well and I mentioned that to the woman behind the counter and her response to me was “so far you are the only person to complain so it must be you” ….wow! Incredibly rude when I was being super polite after that I did make a sarcastic comment fly but she seriously needs to adjust her bad attitude. It is the customer’s money that supports her getting a salary so perhaps she needs to find another job that doesn’t require her to be customer facing.

  I am so grateful to one particular person at this USPS location that I wanted to take the time to write a review specifically about her. (I have given a five star rating also only because of her) With customer service and genuine attention to customer concerns unfortunately becoming harder to find, Karla at the Santa Monica USPS location truly stands out. I was waiting for a very important letter addressed to me at this location. The sender had confirmed multiple times that the letter had been delivered to the correct address; however, I could not locate it anywhere. Because the letter was extremely important, I visited this USPS location several times. Unfortunately, Karla was not working during the days and hours I happened to visit, and I was repeatedly told that there was no letter under my name. I also tried calling the location many, many times but was unable to get through. Eventually, I had to contact the main USPS customer service line and open a case simply to get assistance. Since I had previously interacted with Karla during one of my visits and remembered how helpful she was, I specifically asked customer service if they could request that Karla contact me directly. And she did! It took a few days, but Karla found my letter and mailed it to my new address. By that time, I had already moved miles away, making it very difficult for me to return to the USPS location in person. I somehow needed to locate this letter from a distance and have it forwarded to me—and Karla made that happen. Karla was incredibly patient and helpful, while also being serious, efficient, and completely on point. No time wasted, no unnecessary back and forth—she simply took my concern seriously and helped solve the problem. I truly appreciate Karla and the effort she made to get this very important letter to me. I have already thanked her, but I wanted to leave this review as one more way of saying thank you.

  This is the main post office where you you can get passports photos and submit applications for passports in addition to all mailing services and purchasing stamps. There were 2 workers here when we arrived and the line seemed long, both workers were very pleasant and smiled and made small conversations with each customer. The guy that helped us had a great smile! It was his birthday, so we wished him a Happy Birthday! He helped us with a Change of Address and told us to step aside to fill out the application, but once we were finished, we could walk up to his counter. Metered parking only, and the time for these meters is 30 mins. After waiting in line and filling out our application, we just made it under 30 minutes.
