On the afternoon of June 26th, I had 2 packages to pick up. (There was one worker at the counter providing service to a few customers.) I knew the packages were too large for my PO box, and I expected to find a key to one of the lockers or a yellow slip. I found a yellow slip in my box and went to push the buzzer to get assistance. I waited PATIENTLY with my walker for about 10 minutes with no response. The counter worker then asked me to ring the buzzer again, which I did. Again, no response. At this time, I could see another worker a few feet from the counter in the back, walking around (she did not look busy). I thought perhaps she would assist me, BUT SHE DID NOT. Eventually, the counter worker motioned for my yellow slip and she assisted me (by then, there was only one customer waiting in line). When the counter worker went to get my packages, that's when the other worker came out and started making like she was doing busy work near the PO boxes! Totally unacceptable. I gave 2 stars because the counter worker assisted me, which I appreciate. I would submit an official complaint, but I don't have the time or the energy. Besides, it wouldn't fix the issue.

I have had consistently terrible experiences at this USPS location in San Leandro. The customer service here is not just poor, it is genuinely unacceptable. The staff is rude, dismissive, impatient, and extremely unprofessional toward customers who are simply trying to get help. Every visit to this location has been stressful and upsetting because of the way customers are spoken to and treated. The employees at the front seem bothered by basic questions and make people feel like an inconvenience. No one should leave a post office feeling disrespected, embarrassed, or uncomfortable just for trying to mail something or resolve an issue. This location needs serious improvement in customer service, professionalism, and basic respect for the public. I would strongly recommend avoiding this USPS location if you have any other option.

Being from out of town, I expected a bit more patience and understanding. The woman at the counter, Loretta, did not reply to my Hello, or how are you today? She just started yelling at me about how my package was too small, even though I've used these boxes for years, sent from other post offices. She asks me in a very angry tine- where am I supposed to put these stickers? Not my job! If you don't want to do your job, just say so, but be polite, please! I feel I was treated this way because I'm obviously not from here.
