Postal People is a family-owned mailbox, shipping, and business services shop proudly rooted in San Francisco’s Sunset District. Built by Bay Area locals and run with heart, we’re here to make everyday errands, business tasks, and “how do I even ship this?” moments easier, faster, and less stressful.
We offer private mailbox rentals, professional packing, secure document shredding, and reliable domestic and international shipping through USPS, UPS, FedEx, and Atlas—always with guidance to help you choose the best option, not just the most expensive one. Our store also provides printing, copying, scanning, faxing, notary services, passport photos, and tax preparation, making Postal People a true one-stop shop for individuals, families, and small businesses.
Inside, you’ll find a thoughtfully stocked selection of office supplies, moving materials, and packing essentials, plus real humans who care about getting it right. We believe great service means being patient, transparent, and dependable, whether you’re mailing a single letter, running a business, or shipping something irreplaceable.
At Postal People, we value community, integrity, and craftsmanship in everything we do. We take pride in knowing our customers by name, supporting local makers and small businesses, and showing up every day with professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. When you walk through our doors, you’re not just another transaction...you’re our neighbor.
They charge a very high fee $35 and $5 for the package receiving service compares to other post office. And even I want to receive only one super important package for my visa while I'm staying at the Airbnb nearby I need to pay $35 setup fee and sign a 5 pages contract and let them copy my passport. I think that's really unreasonable. None of the other post offices have this requirement and I rather pay $2 and let one named Offix Edge receive the package and it's super simple.
From my point of view, this store rather make you rent a mailbox instead of the simple package receiving service. if you don't want to do package receiving service then you don't have to do it but even still you should write the requirements clearly on the website so you can not waste other people's time.

I've been renting a mailbox here for a few months now, and it's been one of the best decisions I've made. I run a small business, so having a real street address and knowing my packages are safe gives me a lot of peace of mind.
What I really like is that I can do everything in one stop. I get my mail, ship packages, drop off prepaid labels, and return Amazon orders without having to drive all over the city. They handle USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, which makes life so much easier.
Big shoutout to Katrina and Darryl. They're always friendly, helpful, and greet everyone with a smile. Even when they're busy, they take the time to answer questions and make sure everything is taken care of. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers.
If you're around Irving Street in San Francisco and need a mailbox or a dependable place for shipping and package drop-offs, I definitely recommend Postal People. It's become my go-to spot, and I always leave happy.

Postal People is so good at what they do, fast and reliable, and they’re always ready to help me with any shipping needs, regardless of which carrier I’m working with. Just had some passport photos taken, and they even helped me with the instructions for finalizing my official paperwork.

The owner Darryl is very kind and honest, and the prices for various services/products are more than fair. Amazing experience being helped every time I’ve gone, and a great local business to support.
