The post office is clean, spacious, and well maintained. Unfortunately, the customer service completely ruined my visit. Two of the three front counter employees were rude, impatient, and unprofessional. From the moment I walked up to the counter, I was not greeted. Instead, the clerk silently stared at me, making the interaction feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I brought in a package to ship and told him the destination ZIP code. He responded by saying I hadn’t put the address on the box. At every other post office I’ve used, the clerk entered the address into the system, printed the shipping label, and attached it to the package. Because of that, I was genuinely confused, but instead of explaining the process, he offered no patience or guidance. After I wrote part of the recipient’s information and returned, I was told to get back in line. Another customer accused me of cutting the line, even though I was simply following the employee’s instructions. The situation could have been avoided with better communication. The next employee was just as dismissive. Instead of listening to my questions, she repeatedly said, “Ma’am, ma’am,” in a raised and impatient tone. No one had asked for the recipient’s name, so I reminded her that it needed to be included. She abruptly replied that they don’t put the name on the shipping label and that customers must write it on the box. Again, this was different from my previous experiences, but rather than explaining the policy professionally, she treated me as though I was the problem. I left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and emotionally drained. What should have been a simple shipping transaction became one of the most unpleasant customer service experiences I’ve had. I felt that I was treated differently than I should have been, and the dismissive attitude throughout the interaction made me question whether I was being treated fairly. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, patience, and basic courtesy, regardless of who they are. I hope management addresses the behavior of these employees and provides better customer service training.

Final collection times posted on the USPS website are NOT accurate as of 3/19/2026. I went to 3 different post offices in Berkeley/Oakland that day to try to drop off a letter before last collection, and found that the information posted online was incorrect for every. single. one. The two locations that I visited before this one (where I learned that the final collection times had already passed) had signs on the collection boxes stating that the last pickup in the area was here, at 8 PM. So, much to my dismay, I drove all the way across Oakland in hopes of sending my letter on its way that evening. Here, I found adjacent signs on the drop box noting three different "last collection" times - 6:00, 6:30, and 8:00 PM. It felt like a cruel joke. Get it together, USPS, please.

Very bad. We went there 5 times for a finger print between 10~3pm, the people in charge were not there for 4 times; We waited until he came back from lunch, but he said his working time is over so he refused to do it Totally irresponsible! and that man is the only person who can do it in the whole post office Not only us, a lot of customers went there and cannot get their figure print Why customer need to wait for him and still cannot get the service? Didn’t customer pay for it? Is he the god so that everyone needs to follow? If this post office cannot do the job, then just fire the man and let other post office to do it!
