- ARAnn Marie RienzoMay 11, 20261.0My experience with Ed was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I was returning two king-sized pillows purchased through Amazon. These pillows originally came vacuum-sealed, so naturally they expanded after opening and no longer fit neatly back into the original box. The Amazon return instructions specifically stated that no box or special packaging was required, and I’ve returned Amazon items at this Staples location for years without ever being told I needed to tape or fully seal the box myself. When I brought the return up, Ed told me the box needed to be packed shut and made me stand there in front of a long line trying to force oversized pillows back into the box. He repeatedly instructed me to smash, rotate, and force them in, which was both embarrassing and unnecessary. What made the interaction worse was his attitude throughout the entire process. At one point he said, “Really, is that all you got?” while I was struggling to compress the pillows, and when it was finally done, instead of any basic courtesy like “Have a nice day,” he simply said, “Okay, you can leave.” The entire interaction felt rude, dismissive, and humiliating over what should have been a simple Amazon return. If the policy has changed, that could have been explained respectfully instead of making a customer struggle publicly with oversized items that were specifically listed as requiring no packaging.
