Clerk 98 was incredibly rude from the moment we checked in for our passport appointment. We arrived at 9:23 am for a 9:30 am appointment. She said she would not start our appointment until 9:30 even though no one else was in line. We waited in the lobby (my two young children, husband and I). My husband realized he had forgotten his ID in the car and rushed outside to grab it. Of course that’s when she called us up. She then said she could not start any of the passport processes until my husband was there. I explained he would be in 1 minute and asked if we could at least start with my child’s passport photo. She declined. My husband came in within a minute of this. She then left her station for several minutes, at which time her colleague offered to help out with the photo. When clerk 98 came back she continued the process, she was short with her answers, and rude every chance she had. She refused to give us her name and said I could only address her as clerk 98. When I told her there was no need for her to be so rude she said “girl, you were late”. Even though the Alhambra usps location is the closest to me, I will never frequent this location after such a rude encounter. It’s a shame that usps can’t hire and keep employees with basic common courtesy.

Rude employee kept interrupting and did not want to listen to my concerns. Brushed me off to another employee telling her I wouldn’t listen to her directions.

My walk-in Saturday passport service was excellent! READ AND FOLLOW the directions for passports online and come in prepared. Our agent was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient for our service as well as the customers before me. To save time, bring in photo (we got ours taken at Walgreens, open 7am-10pm), originals AND photocopies of birth certificate and drivers license (BOTH sides), and see info online for what forms of payment you can use for different aspects of the passport. Two of us were processed within 10 minutes, which was also helpful for the other very few customers that can be crammed into the 3-hour walk-in service time. It is not the fault of this post office, but the system of appointment scheduling is difficult for working people and if one cannot conduct their transaction by mail. This particular post office was also excellent at keeping the Saturday walk-in passport customers and general postal service customers organized and getting served quickly, and all of the employees were pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient.
