- MLMike LipsitzJul 15, 20265.0This is a local institution where if you hang out for a little while you will meet everyone in town as most locals don't receive street mail delivery due to the rural location. The Post Office here is a little unique in that it is run by a single clerk. Goes without saying that they are quite busy! Still, most folks are greeted by name upon arrival, service is personal, and you rarely have to wait. Be aware that due to the constraints of a one man operation the hours are a bit unusual. Also, there's usually a rush about 15 minutes before closing so if you arrive at 2:45, yes you will likely have to wai. The last to aspects worth mentioning is that there's a wonderful native plant demonstration garden out front that is maintained by the water agency and finally, the US Post Office at Landers, 92285, has the best air conditioning in a 20 mile radius!

So why exactly is it, that when I ordered something off of eBay or Amazon, or any other website, that USPS will allow the seller to pay for deliver to my house in Landers? Just to have the package shipped back to the seller? Terrible service.
