I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience at the USPS location in Huntington Park today for my child’s passport appointment. The employee (a woman at the window) immediately gave me dirty looks and raised her voice at me for presenting my residence card as proof of identification — something clearly listed as acceptable on the official U.S. Passport website. I had successfully used the exact same document for my other child’s passport application earlier this year at a different USPS location with zero issues. When I questioned it, she doubled down, asked her coworker, and continued insisting my residence card “is not an ID.” I ended up handing over my own passport just to avoid further conflict with this unprofessional and rude employee. USPS needs to do better. Staff should be properly trained on current passport requirements instead of arguing with customers and making them feel unwelcome for following the rules. This kind of poor service and inconsistency is unacceptable.

The black lady has a terrible attitude and hundreds of people can confirm that. I don't know how she still has this job since she's such a terrible person. It's 9am and she's already angry, yelling at people and giving everyone an attitude. She doesn't know how the passport process even works. She doesn't know what the department of state considers as an identification. I had to repeat to her multiple times that the certificate that the state gave me IS AN IDENTIFICATION for my son. I explained to her what the department of state recommended me to do but she just kept yapping about the rules that the department of state has. How are you going to tell me the rules that they have when you don't even know what a certificate from the state even looks like? I left and went to another building to tell them about the situation and they told me that my certificate IS A VALID FORM OF ID but that that lady is very complicated and fairly new to passports. She should be fired honestly. People come in for simple things regarding mail or passports but she creates these things into a whole issue with her nasty attitude and ignorance.
