  Staples can sometimes be hit or miss, but Lukas at the Grass Valley location made my Saturday! I took the bus over from Nevada City and walked the short stretch to the store, and I am so glad I did. Lukas was patient, ran a couple of test pages for my little project, and went out of his way to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I really appreciate the customer service and him helping this Gen X gal navigate the newfangled technology. Outstanding service--thank you!

  It isnt fun being held hostage in line with only one cashier, 9 people waiting!!! Two other employees were there with the copy machines chatting it up, telling each other stories, without any customers at the time... The checkout line looks the same as customer service. I was in the wrong line, totally unaware. When it was my turn the man says ill be with you in a few minutes, like what? Oh im in the wrong line, he said yeah you have to get in the end of the other line... When the other line just filled up... After waiting 10 minutes, to start all over... Place seems like it isnt managed properly, was a bad experience.

  I’ve noticed the store is often short-staffed, and the staff can sometimes be a bit difficult to deal with. Today, while waiting in line to return an item on Amazon, the checkout line kept moving, and even people who just walked up to it were being helped. There were two employees at the front at the time. Another customer in front of me in the Amazon return line had been there even longer. When the cashier helped a person who had just walked up, both the customer in front of me and I asked if we would be helped or if we should come back later. The cashier completely ignored us, not a single word was said to us. When the other cashier eventually came and helped us, he was rude and even threw the items into the bag. A simple, “Sorry guys, he’ll be right with you” would have been much better. And to completely ignore us when we asked if we should come back later was so unprofessional. I didn’t ask my initial question with an attitude, nor was I rude to start. The owners should consider hiring more staff, which might help improve the attitudes of those already there.
