I went here to mail a rifle receiver to a barrel manufacturer and was told they couldn't mail it. When I attempted to show them the page on the USPS website that said they were mailable, I was told that they only do what their supervisor says and don't follow the Post Office rules and regulations. I went to a different post office and had no problems. The general attitude of the clerk at the Castro Valley Post Office was hostile and dismissive.

Box there for several years, and after moving I submitted a change of address so my mail would be forwarded to my new address. However, the mail was not being forwarded consistently — it was hit or miss — so I ended up having to drive three hours to the post office just to pick up my mail. Then, for some reason, my P.O. Box payment didn’t get processed, and I was unable to renew it online. After weeks of trying to resolve the issue online or over the phone — without having to make another three‑hour drive — I was finally contacted and told that my P.O. Box had been claimed by a new owner. I’m very disappointed with how this situation played out. The whole experience has been a major inconvenience, and now I have to submit another change of address, hoping it will work this time, though I have little faith in the process.
