Lady was friendly and completely useless. I was there first. She told me to fill out forms and then told me the form she told me to fill out was incorrect. Then she asked me to step aside so she could help others while she sought a supervisor. Utterly wasted my time and energy. I had to call the USPS 800 number because the in person staff was useless.
Also nearly got a parking ticket because this took far longer than it should have.

I go here all the time and the staff is always courteous and efficient. There's usually a pretty good sized line, but they keep people moving and overall I would say they do a good job.

I came in to get some information on what would be needed for a passport book got information and wasn’t told about anything else. I made an appointment 3 weeks ahead of time since they’re booked on appointments. I get to my appointment and the Passport agent looks like he just got there half button shirt wearing a beanie and is irritated to do his job. Doesn’t greet me and asks what time my appointment is and before anything gets brought up asks if the information I brought is in English and notarized. I had previously came to ask for information and wasn’t told about this until now and the person says well I can’t help you, you have to get it notarized. These people are unprofessional and irritated they have to do their job. Terrible Terrible experience

I recently moved to Alameda and have found myself at the USPS Shore Center location more times than I expected. I’ll admit—I usually prepare for a long wait and a test of patience when dealing with government offices. Instead, I’ve been genuinely impressed.
Every visit has been smooth and efficient. The line moves quickly, and the staff are consistently courteous, attentive, and helpful. Questions are answered clearly, packages handled with care, and the overall vibe is surprisingly upbeat.
I actually don’t mind going to the post office now—which is not something I ever thought I’d say.
I’m sorry to hear that not everyone has had the same experience, but from what I’ve seen, this team is doing a solid job. If you caught someone on an off day, it might be worth giving them another try.
